Shopping I

Mexico, D.F. on taynna kauniita kadulla myytavia kasitoita, joskin kylista loytyisi viela mukavammin. Olen kuitenkin ostanut jo pari kirjottua puseroa taalla.

Mexico City is full of lovely crafts: in every street corner there's somebody selling beautiful skirts and shirts, though, in the villages there is even more. In the City I've already bought two shirts - I'm going to present the first one today. I bought it from a young lady selling her crafts on the street here (streets are for cars and little street markets, not for pedestrians!). The pattern of these little human beings fits in my work with children and, I just love the hand made cotton shirts. For Europeans the prices are nice: I paid 100 pesos which is like 10 US dollars. As cotton normally, also this shirt shrink a bit when I washed it, but no worries. It's perfect.

Kuvan taustalla muuten nakyy uusi lempparikahvilamme uudella asuinalueella. Oh, limemehu ja kahvi siella ovat mahtavia!

On the background you can see our new favourite coffee house located in our neighbourhood. Oh, the lime drink and coffee there are fantastic!

Viihdytin viikonloppuna hanen uteliaita naapureitaan neulomalla sukkia uima-altaan aarella. (Arvatkaa kenella on punainen nahka?)

Also, I've been knitting a bit my self. In the evenings after the work I'm studying Mexican accent and slang watching The Simpsons and knitting socks. Lynda's socks have been ready a while already but, I've faced some problems to go to post office. With the left over yarn of Lynda's socks I started to make little nighty night socks for the new flat mate. I took some more yarn from Finland with me when I came and I've also started basic socks for the Mexican friend, who we were visiting this weekend. I Knitted In Public beside the pool, entertaining his neighbours. (You can guess my skin is rather red than white now..)
